New – Traffic Patterns

Link: Traffic Patterns

Hot off the press! My short story “Traffic Patterns” was published in this month’s issue of Canadian Family Physician!

This is a true story – an account of a fly-on-the-wall moment in the back hall of an emergency room on a sleepy Sunday afternoon. A story about small moments, details, that are lost in the shuffle of our healthcare system. A story about trees that we sometimes don’t see for the forest.

I am very grateful to the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Foundation for Advancing Family Medicine for naming this piece the winner of the 2022 Mimi Divinsky Award for History and Narrative in Family Medicine. Thank you!
